Please don't go to Walmart. It's so easy to just not shop there. Even Barack Obama agrees.

In looking for inexpensive furnishings to put in our condo for a vacation renter, I found plates at Goodwill for what I thought was pretty cheap - .99 each. They were decent, obviously used but not cracked or stained (they were a strange mauve-magenta purple color) and they were a matching set of 6. The next day I headed to Wal-Mart to find some items I had not been able to find at thrift stores. There I found new plates that were .89 cents each. How can Wal-Mart get away with selling under Goodwill??
It disturbed me. The reality - who really needs new plates from anywhere? I had some stored in my garage I did not want to dig out and put in my rental. The person who gave up the perfectly useable plates I bought at Goodwill likely is now using new plates they bought (at Wal-Mart or elsewhere).
Bottom line - Goodwill needs to lower prices. Everyone needs to make an effort to recycle instead of buy new.
Since that experience I have bought several items on Craigslist and hauled away quite a few items to be sold for charity. We don't need all these possessions!

PS: Anyone need to rent a 2/2 condo in Naples, FL?
